Pros: Great advertising pulling power

Cons: To many to list

Comments: My experience with iiNet has been terrible with a VDSL connection.
This company, internet speed and customer service is so appalling it’s hard to believe they remain in business. Promised speeds of around 25mbs are usually around 6 and regularly drops so low (below 1) that I can’t watch Netflix on low res & can’t stream Spotify. The installation guy did a test AFTER installing and said “oh looks you’re only going to get about 6mbs” If we actually got that all the time then maybe it would be almost ok.

Internet stopped working & I spent over an hour on hold before speaking to a customer rep and they don’t have an Australian based call centre. They couldn’t lodge a fault outside of hrs so I had to go through the process again during the day with different answers from those I spoke with. And most of them had a bad attitude. I guess that’s what happens to staff dealing with countless disappointed and dissatisfied customers all day. Took over a week to get a technician out. And the fault was at their end. Without internet for almost a month and they offered no refund or credit.

These guys are terrible. All talk and no action Don’t get sucked in by the advertising as what is promised and what you get are poles apart. Run away!

Pros: been lied too

Cons: blames customer for faultys

Comments: being as after more than 5 months of a service faults iiNet only thought that 2 months credit is good enough, where a service is faulty with that the ACCC requirement is provide a repair, replacement, refund, compensation or cancellation, depending on the circumstances if the phone or service fails to meet one or more of the consumer guarantees .

As the equipment was replaced fixing the faulty, thus proving that the equipment was faulty and only given only 2 months credit and then close the complaint.
But as you iiNet, causing 5 plus months stuffing a customer round, only worth two months credit, then I am going to be cancelling my service's. For iiNet fail the ACCC requirement is provide a repair, replacement, refund, compensation or cancellation, depending on the circumstances if the phone or service fails to meet one or more of the consumer guarantees as from the ACCC web site.

Which my recorded paper work with iiNet show from the start of the contract we had issue with the number of contacts with iiNet in regards to this servicer and iiNet kept closing the cases blaming the customer.

Pros: None

Cons: Too many to list

Comments: Service is appalling. It appears as if they are playing games with customers - I called up to inquire as to why my internet was intermittent and by the end of the call I had no internet connection at all, a few days later, no phone line. 15 days later, 7 calls over 300mins later, no fix and no plan on how to fix. Every time I call up they say they will lodge a fault and have someone call me. No one calls. When I call back, they say they will lodge a fault and they don't know what happened with the last call and thof y will call me back. This has happened so may times it feels like a joke. The service is nonexistent, they way the call centres say sorry repeatedly but don't actually do anything differently is appalling and is bad human behaviour. iiNet are a deplorable company and I would not want anyone else to go through this experience. It causes a lot of stress and anxiety and is very upsetting. iiNet are thieves - they take money and do not provide the service/product that you pay for. In 2017 it is inconceivable that internet services can not be provided with consistency and that a company that advertises as friendly and helpful is noting but. iiNet are deceptive and stressful to deal with.

Pros: No positives!!

Cons: Everything!!!!

Comments: 7 weeks later after fibre to home installation and at least 20 phone calls that take approx. 2hrs in total to explain the same thing over and over still no resolution, no call back with updates, no internet speed, my account was debited twice, plenty of empty promises, many emails with speed tests that they require to be able to escalate to "higher" technical support and on and on....
Well, in a few words "BE AWARE, STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS"!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Used to be good. No positives

Cons: Worst tech support, South Africa call center have no idea what they are doing.

Comments: I've been with iiNet for 12 years. They used to be the best - fastest speeds, best tech support. Now... Let's just say, I'm about to switch to another ISP. When you call tech support or billing, you get someone in Cape Town South Africa (oh and the wait time is usually 1 hour). They are pathetic. They have no idea what they are doing. One time, a tech issue, the operator tried to sell me product instead of fixing the issue. All they care about is making a sale. TPG (the owners of iiNet) are the reason for all of this. They only care about money. iiNet used to be about service, not anymore. Apart from all of that, the speed is not what it used to be. I was getting between 18-20Mbps (awesome), now I'd be lucky to get 10Mbps. Even with a brand new (2 month old) PC, the speed issue has not changed. I believe it's due to them cost cutting and not putting money in to upgrading infrastructure like they used to (before TPG took over). I would NOT recommend iiNet to anyone. Worst service in Australia.

Pros: Provice cheap modem

Cons: Very long hold times, poor support service

Comments: Signed up to iinet NBN service and it has been the worst decision made for a long time. I do not get the speed I am paying for, and iinet is not interested in finding out why. Ever time I call the "help desk" it takes on average 90 minutes for some one to answer the phone. If you use the call back service (if it is available) it can take up to 5 HOURS for them to get back to you. When one the "friendly customer service agents" does contact you, they either have no idea how to fix the issue or just hang up on you.
If yo can, do not use iinet (or TPG). go with a cheep provider. You wont get any better service, but at least you will not be stick paying a premium price a poor service with slow speeds

Comments: HFC FIBRE MILDURA ... Don't, just don't.
Multiple Nodes (Zones) are highly congested to the point customers are being kicked from the network.
They don't care.
They have failed to add this KNOWN fault to their status page to advise any potential customers at date of writing this review.

Pros: None

Cons: No desire to resolve on going issues.

Comments: Such a useless company, after being disconnected for the third time in four months I tried to escalate my first support call so they'd call straight to Telstra so that I wouldn't have to wait possibly close to two weeks like previous outages. But they insisted they need to send out the subcontractor first... And of course it's now been referred onto Telstra tech again. While I know they can't fix it it should be my job to get the lines in my street fixed, iinet simply continue to let Telstra disconnect their clients (I've spoken to several neighbours) and not chase a permanent solution. I have raised complaint with ombudsman to see if I can get a result from both iinet and Telstra. Would not recommend iinet to anyone since they were purchased a a year ago.

Pros: no problems until last 6 months

Cons: very difficult to contact

Comments: I have been with iinet for over 15 years, but in the past 4 months have had major problems with slown download speeds which today is only 0.59 mbps. It is difficult to contact iinet - they will ring you back, but one time they rang after 10pm when I had asked for a call back at 4pm. They have helped me troubleshoot - problem is not at my home. They agreed to send a technician out - that was 7 days ago and I am still waiting. It is better value for me to use my portable wifi modem at the moment!

Pros: Disconnecting from them.

Cons: Tard, Pathatic , Garbage. = TPG

Comments: 16 Years with IINET moved from ozmail to iinet. NO worries loved them. Since TPG took over. its been Hell.
speed of 5kb and constant dropouts. Have to switch off modem to reconnect.
since 15th November chasing them over this issue. and untill today 23 January. NOT fixed and they working on it.
Call them to disconnect and to my surprise I was told that I re-committed with them for 30 months on 1st of January like 20 days ago. I denied and they said we need to check that before we can disconnect you from service.. as I believe they buying time to take money from me for the next month. so I am forced to stay with them till next month.
They are very rude and cheat and lies. They never call you back. Very Very hard to get to them to talk any thing or get any help. Even email they "dont receive" even though I get confirming email back. but still they deny.
They should be shutdown and kick back to where they came from. Will Miss real IINET.

Comments: They have a so called "free zone". but it BS... they charge you for it most of the time. I even tested the theory. I unplugged everything and only put Netflix on for 2 hours. then the next day I logged into my account to see I was charged over 2GB. I brought this to their attention. But just got BS answers from every consultant. I was spending $20 to $60 extra per month for extra data packs. Plus home phone has never worked here for 18 months. I am on the phone to disconnect now and move to Optus.
