History:
TPG Telecom Limited (ASX: TPM), formerly SP Telemedia Limited (ASX: SOT), is an innovative market leader in the Australian telecommunications industry listed on the Australian Stock Exchange since 2001. In 2008 a merger with TPG Holdings Limited joined the brands of TPG and Soul to form a group with annual revenue approaching $500m and strong profits. In March 2010, TPG acquired Pipe Networks, providing TPG with access to an extensive Australian fibre optic network including the wholly owned Pipe Pacific Cable (PPC-1) link between Sydney and Guam with onwards connectivity to the USA and Japan.

With sustained growth the company has become a dynamic and integrated force providing innovative voice, internet and data solutions through one of the largest networks in Australia. Our own network infrastructure has significant investment being built from a broadcast television base, and today includes fixed line, fibre and wireless services connecting voice customers with call collection areas throughout Australia and data and internet customers with more than 350 exchange areas.

Pros: They charge for services not provided

Cons: Arrogant and don't care about customers

Comments: I have been a 10+ year customer with them. As a result of storm damage, the line had to be replaced. They send an engineer and did an illegal job. Lines entangled with 220V Power cables, sticky taped etc. As of then we had a really bad connection 90% of the time (0.3Mbps max). All their engineers acknowledged this was the problem. After 9 months of no usable service their final solution is they offered me to switch provider!!!!! Seriously, this must be a joke!!! But no the meant it :-(. I hired my own technicians to replace their illegal connected line (I have photo's etc to proof it). Now I have internet again and it looks since the last 6 months they went into the oversubscribing their customers to milk as much money out of their customers before NBN arrives. 3 times I had to call in the last 4 weeks because internet service was not usable. They did something in the back and Whoala it worked again. I logged a complaint with TIOO and they are useless as well. They did not want to help and did not care about the illegal connected line. They wanted to get rid of me as the situation was too complex so they became technical with their legal terms. I have a university degree but had no clue what they were saying. TPG in the end offered me 2 Months compensation for almost 12 months of having no usable internet (which I paid for). Stay away from this Mob if you can! They are all overseas will listen and don’t provide solution, dragging it to keep you paying!!!

Pros: There are absolutely none.

Cons: See detailed comments. Customer service is the worst.

Comments: Have been a TPG customer for some 10 years - this will end now. After spending 2 weeks patiently waiting for my installation date to come up, and the technician having come through, i still have no internet. On the Saturday they advised me someone would come, and if it not come around at least call me by 9am to fix the issue - no call, no technician, nothing. Then having called them on Sunday night, im greeted with nothing but rudeness and insincerity! They then tell me someone will call me back within 24 hours - 48 hours later i have to call again to ask when someone will be around to fix the issue, they then tell me itll be another 2 days and hang up on me. What an absolute joke. Will be canceling my service and making sure everyone is aware of the pathetic and unprofessional service they offer!

Pros: Good sales team that sounds very friendly

Cons: Thiefs, Liars, Ruthless, waste your time, twist your info

Comments: Beware: the sals team do sound very friendly but they promise what they can not deliver. You will end up with no Internet like me and money missing in your account. Lots of time wasted on the lengthy calls that lead nowhere. After they take your money always in advance and sign you for the longest contract possible. They will make you wait without Internet for 20 days, send all technicians to holidays at once and refuse to refund your money. It took over 2 months of phonecalls to finally break the news to me that they are keeping my money for nothing they did nothing for me apart for stealing and lying. The worst company in Australia. Do not even think about it!

Pros: Nothing positive comes from being with TPG except for unlimited data bundles.

Cons: Takes your money fast, extremely poor customer service, the list goes on.

Comments: Honestly if you want to be ripped off, they're the best in the market for that. Service is unreliable, constant drop outs, constantly being reassured that my service would be fixed. I lost count of how many technicians they sent down to fix the issue (which never got fixed) and customer service representatives sounds bored and very unwilling to help solve your enquiries. Please do yourself a favour and avoid TPG - spend your money on a company with better reviews and service.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Customer service , Poor installation

Comments: I paid for my monthly start up fee and installation on the 2nd of April. It is the 19th of April and I still have no internet connection. I am paying for a service I have not been able to access! The installation process of my internet was yesterday and I still have no access to my internet. I have no been told that I will have to wait for a technician phone call regarding the lines in my apartment. Why isn't this tested upon installation I need internet access today not next week. Also in regards to how late the modem was posted I am disappointed. I waited two weeks for installation date this is poor service.
I waited on the phone for an hour after customer service apparently conducted 4 tests only to be told they will send a technician.

Pros: Take money very fast

Cons: Terrible when cancel

Comments: Never sign contract with TPG. Internet was very slow, sometime disconnected. At the end of the contract I told them I did not want to renew contract. They kept taking money from my bank account without notice and charge cancellation fee. That's disgusting.

Pros: NO POSITIVES

Cons: Misleading marketing, false promises, longer phone waiting times, no local support,

Comments: Stay away from TPG! You have been warned.

This nightmare of a company promised me a nbn connection within 2-4 business days as I had a modem and nbn into the house already. After taking my money i heard nothing from them for a month. Constant calls to check on the status, I kept getting told I would be contacted by their tech support. No modem had even arrived.

I got tired of waiting, bought an iPrimus modem from AusPost and was connected in 5 days. I canceled TPG and received a confirmation email detailing no charge. 2 days later they illegally charged my credit card and refuse to refund me. Calls get bounced around, hung up on, emails of no help. I have had to dispute the transaction with my bank.

This is just a tiny snapshot of my dealings with TPG.

STAY AWAY FROM TPG.

Pros: Connection Uptime

Cons: Slow speeds during peak times

Comments: I've been with TPG since 2008 they've had a very competitive broadband bundle and were the only provider for a long time to provide unlimited data at very low costs. Their uptime is very good no major distruptions. Download speeds are very good however they become inconsistent during peak hours.

Pros: Haha really?

Cons: Im not sure i have enough space to fit all the negatives in...

Comments: Ok people, if you do one thing in this life time, DO NOT sign up for an account with TPG. Im serious. I disregarded these reviews and it has come back to bite me in the ass monumentally.

Check it - I live in Surry Hills, not the bush. They came and installed my ADSL. It didnt work. They tested my line and it was fine. I told them i wanted to cancel the service as I could not access their network at all which defeats the point of paying them for the internet. They told me I had to pay not only for the installation service, but also an early cancellation fee. Total $408 for one weeks worth of internet that never actually worked. Plus two half days off work to let these thieving bastards into my house.

Unless you want to pay four hundred bucks to sit on hold to the TPG call centre for 3 hours and not actually be able to access their network, give these guys a miss!

Pros: there is nothing

Cons: there is everything

Comments: Ridiculous Service. I don't know whether they understand English. Its better to mail them. because the call center guys are totally useless. Waste of time. I was out internet for 1 month because of their mistake. Now when I raised a cancellation request on a particular date due to movement, they had done it earlier. now again i'm out of internet. As usual the customer service is useless when i asked them to reconnect because of their mistake.

Pros: Haha

Cons: everything

Comments: My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 24, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your crap internet service gave me cancer anyway.

Pros: None

Cons: Everything about this company is negative and due to hefty disconnection fee I can't even come out of it before 24 months

Comments: I have no good things to say about this company.
We engaged with this company nearly 2 years ago. From day one with how long it took to give us internet connection to today everything was always our fault, never theirs. They took 30 days to connect our broadband first time and the connection has always been poor. We called them several times and all they can come up with is telling us to troubleshoot with them and they find that theres nothing wrong with their internet and it must be our devices. How is it that this is the matter of fact for every single TPG user? Then they sent out a technician once and they never bothered to give us an update to what has happened or if that technician ever turned up. Their finding again nothing was wrong. Upon trying to cancel my contract with them they told me I have to pay a massive cancellation fee. They try and rinse you every way possible. Here we are paying our full bill with no solution to their poor services.

I would never ever recommend them to anyone. I would like to see how this company thrives with their poor network.
