Comments: Ordered adsl+2.

First time I signed up, I made a point to confirm if there was any additional charges that may be made. Sales representative said "no", then I'm my first bill there were additional fees that were not explained by the sales representative. I tried to dispute this, Spintel did not care.

My service got disconnected as I had changed cards and did not inform them of my new card details in-time. When I called to reconnect my internet, I informed the sales agent that I have no mobile data currently and I require the internet ASAP. They mislead me, causing me to believe I would have internet in roughly 2-5 business days. Over 1.5 months later, I finally get the internet. Oh and they charged me for 1.5 months of internet which I did not use, as I did not have.

Called to cancel subscription, sales agent (Travis) said they had the right to charge me for services I did not pay my December bill (sounds like extortion to me).

Comments: DO NOT JOIN THIS COMPANY. the cheap internet is not worth it. They are completely incompetent, and lie to you. We signed for internet for $40 per month with no connection fee. They charged us over $80 for first month because they added on all these additional services that we told them we didn't want. I needed to move the service from my partners name to my name and they insisted that they could only do this for a $59 charge. After many phone calls and hours of wasted time, we asked for an official complaint number so we could go to the ombudsman and they amazingly said they could now do the name change for free!. Then guess what, next bill.....they charged me the $59 for changing the name. Absolutely ridiculous. Now I will have another long phone call to try and get this rectified

Cons: Poor administration support through call centre in Manila

Comments: Spintel has been unable to connect internet service to the NBN box in my address. Their technical support is horrifying - their call centre is in Manila, Phillipines and they don’t know how to respond to a query due to language barriers. After two weeks of hanging on the phone with their technical support team, they now tell me I need to contact NBN to check for the correct address and they charged a massive $206.33 for a service they never provided. When asked about the payment they took from my credit card for internet access I don’t have, they responded that they will not refund. I have had to change credit card to avoid further fraud from Spintel.

Speed dropped from about 1.2 Megabytes(ps) to 120 kB(ps). Has been like this for 5 days. After I reported the situation to them ,my internet speed dropped even more down to 0.00375 KB(ps)

Comments: I had never get ADSL service in the time frame they promissed. Keep postphoning connection schedule. Call centre Never call me back when they promised calling me back or I left my number. Waited for a month and gave up finally. Even they disconnected my active land line when I gave up waiting for ADSL so I cannot use other ISP. Spintel wants me to pay to reconnect it eventhough I had active land line before I signed up Spintel. Full of jokes. Waste time and money.

Comments: Spintel website advertised ADSL + home phone line at $49.95pm, so I put my address into confirm service address & again it listed $49.95pm. When I received confirmation of order it stated $59.95pm. When I rand to query this price, I was told that the $49,95pm plan was not available at my service address even though the website said it was available when I provided my address. I begrudgingly agreed to proceed with connection. Iwas told that because I had disconnected my phone from Telstra I would have to pay a $59.00 fee to reconnect phone line, to which I agreed, but have just received my 1st invoice which states that a $59.00 fee was charged & paid for, but it also charges a new phone line fee of $299.00. I rang to have this corrected, the girl on the phone was nothing short of a rude bitch. She told that she would put in a disputed fee claim & that it would not charged until resolved. We'll see. At this stage I don't believe anything Spintel tells me. It took 21 days to have phone line switched back on after placing order, a task that the website states to take 1-3 days. This was done be the Telstra guy flicking a switch at the exchange, did not come to our address to check the line as stated the $59.00 fee was for. After taking so long to connect the phone, I rang Spintel to ask where my modem was that I ordered for $69.95 + $15.00 delivery? They told me that a modem had not been shipped yet as I had not paid for it. Strange, since it was on the order confirmation they sent me originally & the cost had been authorised by me in the same order with the phone line. After discussions on the phone, a modem was received by courier within 4 days. Followed the instructions to connect it up, would not connect. Rang Spintel technical assistance, after 45 minutes of doing various checks & tests, I'd had enough. Told the technician to put me through to his Supervisor after not ageing to Spintel's voice terms & conditions to log a service call to have the line checked. (The t&c's basically stated tht Spintel could charge me $150.00 for lodging a service call regardless of fault & absolved Spintel of all responsibility). The Supervisor had no customer service skills whatsoever & I'm sure didn't know what he was talking about. Anyhow, service call was organised & while I'm typing this I just got a text stating that the issue has been resolved. Still haven't seen any type of technician though. I don't believe the issue is fixed, I'll have to wait & see but I won't be holding my breath. My advice to all. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR SPINTEL. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!

Comments: The WORST company to have to deal with, slow net speed, unprofessional customer service and they will charge you extra ANY way they can. Over 18 months i have spent hours on the phone and still the speed of internet is rubbish, still my account is in my divorced name as they want to charge me $$ to change it as its ownership transferal, and currently i am disputing a technician bill where i rang to "not authorize" the visit on Australia Day as we weren't home, yet the tech was sent, i "was not in attendance" and still they want to charge me $150. i have called spintel 5x and the unpaid bill is still threatening to disconnect my internet. save yourself the hassle as this cheap option is not going to make you happy.

Comments: I've been with Spintel for nearly 2.5 years and still happy. There is sometimes problems with the ADSL when it rains but apart from that, no problems. Speed is still good enough to stream Netflix. Was on a 100GB plan for ages and just recently upgraded to 500GB plan because I'm watching a lot more Netflix.

Cons: No internet for 2 months

Comments: Internet service went down over 2 months ago. Spent endless hours attempting to get it fixed. Despite me telling the line went down as a result of a massive storm, they still insisted it was an issue with the modem. Got a second modem and surprise, surprise, it didn't work either. Then they wanted me to switch back to the first modem and complete all the same tests again. Still nothing. Then they wanted me to get a landline so I borrowed one from work. Landline works perfectly.

Then they wanted me to get an electrician out to determine that if it was something to something wrong in the line in my apartment. They said if they sent a technician out and it wasn't their fault, I would be charged $200. So I got an electrician out and everything was fine. Told them and they still wouldn't send someone out. Instead, they sent it to the faults team in the Philippines, who rang me and asked me to perform all the same tests again. I said there is no point, as I've already done it so many times. They insisted I do it one more time and still no result. Then they said it needs to be escalated, however they had already told me it had been escalated. I have have heard nothing from them since then.

Every time I get on the phone, it is at least a 1 hour wait time and another hour talking to them to get absolutely nowhere. They have a call back service so you don't have to wait on the line, however it doesn't work. It says to press 1 to receive a call back and when I press 1 nothing happens. They have told me twice that I will receive a call at a certain time and I have rushed home to receive the call and no one rang me. They have also told me me several times that someone will call me back either by the end of the day or within 48 hours and I haven't heard from within the time frame they told me. Once they took a week to call me back after saying they will call me within 48 hours.

Every time I speak to someone they ask me the same questions ie. what sort of modem is it etc. Now when I speak to them I say can you please read your notes because I have explained my situation so many times and I am so sick of repeating myself. I asked for a refund on my account for the internet I have been paying for and not receiving for the last 6 months and they said not until they have resolved the problem.

Comments: The service/support received is almost nil. Our NBN phone constantly drops-out during calls and we often have no phone at all. Internet speed is almost at dial-up speed at times. Can take over 30 minutes to start up PC each morning. Will be paying to get out of contract from these rip-of merchants

Comments: The worst company ever. They are biggest scammers. We wasted 4 months over 50 phone calls, losts of phone credit and $160.00 of charges without any service provided. They were supposed to connect our internet in a months time from the contract, ehich is long enough. After over 40 phone calls and 3 months after, they never connected us. But they still charged the monthly fee and they refused to refund us for the unlawful charges, since they never provided the services. SCAMMERS. Waste of time and Money

Comments: From the moment I signed up, I received prompt detailed information on the progress of my phone line and broadband bundle. Regular text and emails stating when I would receive my modem router, the phone line being connected and a date +/-48 hours when the broadband would be ready.

I was pleasantly surprised when the modem was early, the line was ready. the only minor thing is the broadband was ready at the end of the 48 hour window. BUT still on time!

The broadband wouldn't work straight away. This was due to somewhat my own fault. Moving into a new house, knowing which phone jack works and which doesn't is tough. Spintel Technical support staff were very patient and understanding and didn't rush at all. Helped me trouble shoot the issue and test the line and the end, the phone jack was in the linen cupboard! There was one time out of about five phone calls where I was 3rd in the que. They do offer a call back system.

With the very quick connection and very helpful staff, after a week with Spintel, I am quite the happy inertnet surfer.

Comments: I signed up for the Spintel service at the end of March, $55 for month-to-month unlimited data including phone line sounded so good! Having no experience in setting up an Australian internet connection, and after a couple of brief phone calls, asking when my internet would be up and running, I understood that it would be within one week. After a week I called again to find out that the standard setup time is actually 10-15 days from the date the phone line is activated, which meant another 2 full weeks of waiting for internet when I really needed it! i was not happy that I was not informed of this from the outset!

I called a couple of times in the last week to find out if there is anything I could do to speed things up, but was told Spintel are only a reseller and depend on Telstra or Optus to activate the internet. Well here I am today, the day the internet was supposed to be connected, and after spending $110 on mobile data in the interim, low and behold, I have just been told that it will be another WEEK until my internet will be available (and I am taking this delay with a pinch of salt).

I have since found out that if you are connecting with a real internet provider (even the resellers), they will take 7-10 business days to setup an internet connection, but no longer.Since I have already paid activation fees, and will be charged for switching over (something Spintel are aware of when they omit the setup time), I will be waiting another week for internet.

Regardless of the internet connection reliability and speed hereafter (if I ever get connected), they're performance to date deserves to be shared. Please don't fall into the same trap!

Comments: Two of SpinTel sale representatives named 'Elvie' and 'Lexie' provided the worst customer service in Australia. Cancelled all the services with SpinTel because of their very bad customer services. 'Elvie' even hung up while a customer was talking. I would not recommend anyone to use their unreliable services.

Pros: ZERO positives with Spintel

Cons: Simply a badly run ISP.

Comments: Misleading sales talk and always hard to understand. What is said over the phone differs to the info on their own web site. Wait times are mostly longer than 1 hour. They repeatedly say they are sorry but keep repeating the same mistakes. IMHO stay the hell away if you have other choices and if you're not happy take your complaint to the Ombudsman. These dog ISP providers are getting fined hand over fist right now so stick it into these rats!

Comments: Call Center from hell Australian content and downloads ok but if you plan to use international content keep away from these guys not even dialup speeds from servers that have large bandwidth like microsoft .10 - .50 kbps download speeds i never knew broadband could be this bad until i met spintel.
