Comments: What can I say. Bigpond has come out in front for me.

I cannot stand slow internet, so ADSL2+, Wireless and anything else below cable / nbn speeds are just not acceptable.

Bigpond stuffed up when switching me over from Optus (which just would stop moving at night due to congestion, which was through exetel at the time) but gave me a solution.

The phone number they said they could transfer over could not, so wasn't interested in a different number, so they ended up giving me the bundled discount even though I have no phone for as long as my contract goes for (24 months) , so I'm happy about that.

So now the only thing they are bad at (which was the price) became decent, so was acceptable again.

With this in mind, would rate them 8/10.

The two points would be, just bad level 1 tech support. It really is just scripted attempts.

To be fair I used to work in ISP tech support as a level 3 tech (never again) and they do a decent job which would fix a lot of the generic problems.

The other star is just price. Still a little on the high side for what I have (example others still have unlimited for what I'm paying for 500gb) but if I were to pay full price, I just wouldn't even bother going with Telstra, it is just too expensive.

Pros: Actually loads Google...takes it time though

Cons: Extremely slow internet speed

Comments: Internet speed is so inconsistent...to the point it can be average for a few mins to drop out for hours on end at reidcuslously slow speeds, (even with Google opened on one device...). Night times are the worst, the Internet is so slow you struggle to load messenger or a simple webpage. Along with that the days are nearly as slow. Absolutely disgusted that they charge people for the slow services and Internet speed.

Comments: In the middle of change of ownership on the fax line (owned by Telstra) as part of a business settlement. There was already a internet service on this line with iiNET from the vendor and so I was looking at the option of bundle both the line rental and data with iinet after the change of ownership took place and so I registered my application with them on the 18-Aug subjected to the fax line also support EFPOST and HICAPS.

The sale guy waffled saying that it will support but when ask for any reference to support this claim he wasn't able to provide me anything.

On 22-Aug I rang to cancel my application with them and did ask for reference number but was told to use the previous one.

On 24-Aug I got message from them indicated that the service is now active, so I rang and was assured there is a glitch with the messaging system and nothing had gone thru (...lies...).

On 26-Aug I got a message from their provisioning team indicating that the number was ported over to iiNet and can not be ported back to Telstra or it's not within their ability to do so.

Change of ownership of the fax line had not happen, yet they went ahead without anyone consent. They lies every time I called assure that nothing being carried out. They breached Telco regulation and go ahead without anyone consent or permission and provide false or incomplete information about the EFPOST and HICAPS about their phone line.

That is my definition of a pathetic service, Australian people and businesses should much deserve better than this.

Cons: not willing to compromise with clients and offer them compensation when they have been in the wrong

Comments: I was given consistenly wrong information by members of iinet team. went overseas, told I needed to call back two weeks prior to returning to reconnect. despite being with them for years, they sent emails saying they could put application through because they couldn't confirm my address. despite assuring me internet woud be up by 5th august (on my return), they had not even started processing application until after I returned. they kept delay8ing all technician send out. it's now 22nd august , internet still not connected. no one to take responsibility for this. no offer to compensation for all the hours I sepnt on the phone, all money lost for work hours. had to force them to give me one month free internet. very disappointed.

Comments: Ok people, if you do one thing in this life time, DO NOT sign up for an account with TPG. Im serious. I disregarded these reviews and it has come back to bite me in the ass monumentally.

Check it - I live in Surry Hills, not the bush. They came and installed my ADSL. It didnt work. They tested my line and it was fine. I told them i wanted to cancel the service as I could not access their network at all which defeats the point of paying them for the internet. They told me I had to pay not only for the installation service, but also an early cancellation fee. Total $408 for one weeks worth of internet that never actually worked. Plus two half days off work to let these thieving bastards into my house.

Unless you want to pay four hundred bucks to sit on hold to the TPG call centre for 3 hours and not actually be able to access their network, give these guys a miss!

Cons: No internet for 2 months

Comments: Internet service went down over 2 months ago. Spent endless hours attempting to get it fixed. Despite me telling the line went down as a result of a massive storm, they still insisted it was an issue with the modem. Got a second modem and surprise, surprise, it didn't work either. Then they wanted me to switch back to the first modem and complete all the same tests again. Still nothing. Then they wanted me to get a landline so I borrowed one from work. Landline works perfectly.

Then they wanted me to get an electrician out to determine that if it was something to something wrong in the line in my apartment. They said if they sent a technician out and it wasn't their fault, I would be charged $200. So I got an electrician out and everything was fine. Told them and they still wouldn't send someone out. Instead, they sent it to the faults team in the Philippines, who rang me and asked me to perform all the same tests again. I said there is no point, as I've already done it so many times. They insisted I do it one more time and still no result. Then they said it needs to be escalated, however they had already told me it had been escalated. I have have heard nothing from them since then.

Every time I get on the phone, it is at least a 1 hour wait time and another hour talking to them to get absolutely nowhere. They have a call back service so you don't have to wait on the line, however it doesn't work. It says to press 1 to receive a call back and when I press 1 nothing happens. They have told me twice that I will receive a call at a certain time and I have rushed home to receive the call and no one rang me. They have also told me me several times that someone will call me back either by the end of the day or within 48 hours and I haven't heard from within the time frame they told me. Once they took a week to call me back after saying they will call me within 48 hours.

Every time I speak to someone they ask me the same questions ie. what sort of modem is it etc. Now when I speak to them I say can you please read your notes because I have explained my situation so many times and I am so sick of repeating myself. I asked for a refund on my account for the internet I have been paying for and not receiving for the last 6 months and they said not until they have resolved the problem.

Comments: I joined with Dodo thinking there wifi deals were really good value a lot cheaper then Telstra. I received all my stuff quiet quick connected up easy. I've had trouble ever since I said to them I wanted wifi to connect with Netflix that's the only thing I'll use it for & all it does is drop out all the time really slow & then they tell me my speed isn't very high or some crap!! well why the hell did you put me on this plan. Now there trying to fix the problem apparently ringing me everyday but I'm still waiting for it to be fixed I don't see the point in paying $69 a month when I can't use the damn thing!! Absolute crap!!! Wouldn't recommend to anyone.. Is there a way to get out!! I'm really disappointed I didn't just go with Telstra.

Comments: Ridiculous Service. I don't know whether they understand English. Its better to mail them. because the call center guys are totally useless. Waste of time. I was out internet for 1 month because of their mistake. Now when I raised a cancellation request on a particular date due to movement, they had done it earlier. now again i'm out of internet. As usual the customer service is useless when i asked them to reconnect because of their mistake.

Comments: Hopeless staff. Pity not like it was when Adam was running the show. So after a week of dealing with their useless staff i managed to fix the problem that was undfixable for iinet. Storytime- So i went a week without internet after being told my line was faulty and a technician would need to come out to fix it. Turns out no problem on the line. Iinet didnt know and told me to buy another modem. I did. Still didnt work and was told to wait another week for another technician. I started researching and found out a firmware update was needed on my dlink to work with nbn. Main iasue with iinet is the staff lied and made up so many stoeies that were wrong and refused to acknowledge their fault. Dealing with them made me want to pull my hair out and i work in retail.

Comments: My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, 'If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.'. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- 'Don't ever smoke. Please don't put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 24, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because your crap internet service gave me cancer anyway.

Cons: Everything about this company is negative and due to hefty disconnection fee I can't even come out of it before 24 months

Comments: I have no good things to say about this company.
We engaged with this company nearly 2 years ago. From day one with how long it took to give us internet connection to today everything was always our fault, never theirs. They took 30 days to connect our broadband first time and the connection has always been poor. We called them several times and all they can come up with is telling us to troubleshoot with them and they find that theres nothing wrong with their internet and it must be our devices. How is it that this is the matter of fact for every single TPG user? Then they sent out a technician once and they never bothered to give us an update to what has happened or if that technician ever turned up. Their finding again nothing was wrong. Upon trying to cancel my contract with them they told me I have to pay a massive cancellation fee. They try and rinse you every way possible. Here we are paying our full bill with no solution to their poor services.

I would never ever recommend them to anyone. I would like to see how this company thrives with their poor network.

Comments: Used to be a brilliant service with real customer support, which I guess is why we stayed with them for so long. Also they were a local Perth company so it felt like supporting our own businesses and jobs, when you rang customer support you spoke to someone here in Australia and if they said they would ring you back they actually did. Since selling to overseas companies the internet service has turned into unreliable rubbish. It just doesn't work much of the time and it is always anything but the fault of Westnet, they make excuses to wriggle out of any responsibility for not providing what the customer pays for. The customer contact is now off shore and often incredibly difficult to communicate with, causing hours of frustration and wasted time on the phone. The number of times I have been hung up on after an hour or more spent waiting to get through is shameful. Can't wait to be done with this contract so we can go to another provider and get decent internet like everyone else on our street!
